What is Awana?
Many adults say that the Bible verses that they memorized were learned during Awana nights when they were kids. Imagine - something so powerful as the Word of God sticking with you from childhood on! Awana really is that powerful - it can impact kids with God's love for a lifetime. This weekly program has both scripture memory, games, sing-a-long time, and an awards system that

EACH WEEK STARTS WITH A MEAL AT 5:30PM!

What ages can participate?
Mountain View's Awana program runs from PreK all the way through 5th Grade (6th Grade through 12th Grade are part of the Awana TREK program - click here for details about it). There are 3 clubs:


Cubbies (Pre-K)
The Pre-K class is fun. Scripture memorization for non-readers allows these kids to learn like the big kids! The Cubbies characters bring the class to life. Awana explains the pre-K class focuses on the idea that young children can and should receive spiritual training as well as the fact that home is the primary place for spiritual training. Awana is fun with a purpose - to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand. Come visit and meet this class's teachers on Wednesday night!

Sparks (K-2nd)
Totally re-invented for 2008, the Sparks club is specially organized for kids in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. The curriculum takes kids a step deeper into God's Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at the preschool level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Christ as their personal Savior while in Sparks.

With an aviation theme, there are three new ranks in this club: HangGlider, WingRunner and SkyStormer. Our belief - Fun Learning = Results! Visit the Sparks class this Wednesday to meet the teachers and see how this class works!

T&T (Truth & Training, 3rd-5th)
The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third- through fifth-grade boys and girls the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today's young people will become tomorrow's church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow - today. Check out this classes and meet the teachers this week!

Music & Games
Each week, there's also time spent playing games and singing. A large group assembly time before going to small group classes energizes the kids for learning time!
